Our new state-of-the-art building – the Lawson Centre for Sustainability – is named in their honour in recognition of their inspirational leadership. What a fantastic way to celebrate a return to our lovely campus!įor those new to the community, the Lawsons’ visionary support led to the launch of the College’s innovative Integrated Sustainability Initiative in the fall of 2019. ![]() New students and returning students then joined us for a wonderful reception in our glorious Quad, which I don’t believe has ever looked more beautiful (thanks to Jerome Chang and Quain Buchanan for improved lighting). In their remarks to students, the Lawsons’ positive values shone through as they reminded us of the importance of a healthy body, mind and soul in our daily lives. The Lawsons are passionate champions for many critically important and interconnected issues, including human health and sustainability. Matriculation was one of Bill’s favourite Trinity traditions – he loved meeting new students and giving them a warm introduction to our College and we especially missed him that evening.Īt the Matriculation ceremony, we formally welcomed our incoming class to the College, and we also conferred honorary degrees upon Joannah and Brian Lawson for their outstanding volunteerism and exemplary leadership. It was also bittersweet, as we missed our beloved Chancellor Bill Graham who always presided over this ceremony. Last Wednesday night, we held our first in-person Matriculation Convocation since 2019! It was such a wonderful evening, bringing us together to celebrate as a community. He gave a practical exhibition stating that the human mind can make the human body as strong as a steel bridge just by following the hypnosis method. He demonstrated different activities to the teachers to define and interpret the power of mind. He elucidated the three stages of mind and explicated about the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. He expounded that everything happens for good and one's belief system plays a vital role in the concept of controlling the mind. He edified the teachers to understand their role in stimulating the students. ![]() By focusing on key ideas written down in your own words and looking for connections between them, one can set goals and achieve them.Īddressing the teachers during his training session Dr Surfraz J Hasim said " A teacher not only guides students in academics or extracurricular activities, but also is responsible in shaping a child to a better human being. Mind map involves writing down a central theme and thinking of new and related ideas which radiate out from the centre. In order to train young minds, teachers and professionals he has developed a skill development and consultancy named Sadhana Academy. He is currently serving as the Principal of P A First Grade College, Mangaluru. He has undergone advanced training in various programmes such as hypnosis, mind power, counseling, neuro linguistic programming, life coaching, executive coaching, Sujok, Redikall and Pranik healing. Internationally acclaimed mind trainer, psychologist, success coach, Dr Surfraz J Hasim conducted the session.ĭr Surfraz J Hasim is also known for his motivational speaking skills, hypnotherapist and master trainer & facilitator.
